Fr. 227, One Dollar, Series of 1899, W-63
Signatures: Lyons/Treat. S/N: K1967295, plate C3453/1842.
The so-called “black eagle” note, featuring a bold central vignette of a bald eagle holding a U.S. flag, with the U.S. Capitol visible in the left background. The vignette is flanked by small portrait medallions of Abraham Lincoln (left), and Ulysses S. Grant (right).
Bold very fine, choice for the grade, and a scarcer signature combination.
